Located in the middle of Cebu and Leyte is a group of islands called Camotes. The islands were called Camotes because the natives' past livelihood was growing "Camote" (sweet potatoes). Now, that things have changed, the islands are now known as a weekend vacation place of Cebuanos. The islands are famous for their numerous majestic caves, a scenic lake, and white sand beaches.

Departure: Mactan Wharf (Located in the back of Island Central Mactan Mall and near Mactan Cebu Airport)

North Cebu - Camotes Islands
Departure: Danao City Port (north of Cebu island)
Arrival: Consuelo Port, Camotes
Boat: Jomalia RoRo
Travel Time: 2hrs

Camotes Travel Tips
  • Bring a lot of cash (no atms in the island)
  • Bring gadgets as it might get boring and quiet at night.
  • Renting motorcycle is a good option since its hard to commute in the islands.
  • There are areas with no phone signal and internet.
  • Bring aqua shoes or sandals since there are a lot of caves to visit.
