This festival literally gave me goosebumps. It is amazing, extravagant, and energetic.
"Wow! This is why Philippines is the most amazing country ever!" This is the first thing, I have murmured to myself when I watched the opening routine of the Pintaflores Festival who was awarded as the Best Performing Group, during the Kasadyahan Festival which was part of the Dinagyang Festival 2014 in Iloilo City, Philippines.
The Kasadyahan Festival was held to showcase the different festivals in the region. Every participant may it be a tribe, a school, or a city showed their bright and colorful festivals. There were a total of 11 participating groups who were the Bacolod Masskara Festival, Saad Festival of Leganes, Iloilo, Manggahan Festival of Guimaras Province, Tribu Hugyaw Kansilay of Silay City, Negros Occidental, Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School, Iloilo City, Sinadya sa Halaran of Roxas City, Capiz, Hugyaw Tribe of Saint Therese-MTC College, Iloilo City, Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival, Tribu Banigan of Libertad, Antique, Tribu Panubli-on of Professional Electronics Intstitute, and Pintaflores Festival of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Honestly, I experienced goosebumps seeing all of the participants with their dances that are synced with their loud drumbeats. For a couple of times, I also stopped taking pictures because I just want to appreciate more the props and the enormous and colorful backdrops that these tribes put into. One thing that I will never forget about the festivals that was shown in the. Kasadyahan Festival, is the eagerly smiles of the dancers, and the sincere and brave serious faces of the tribe warriors. All in all, I think this the one of the reasons why it's more fun in the Philippines. We have one of the most diverse cultures that can converge with one another.
Here are some of the photos I snapped while watching the Kasadyahan Festival 2014.
