FEATURE: 5 THINGS I DONT LIKE ABOUT CORON, PALAWAN

Kayangan Lake View, Coron Island

Coron, Palawan is an island and a town located in the northern part of Palawan. It is part of the Calamianes group of islands. It is known for its rich and abundant marine life from coral gardens and reefs, different fish species, to amazing islands. But with all of these amazing natural attractions found around Coron, there are things that I as a traveller dont like.

1. IT IS SECLUDED!

Coron island is somewhat secluded base from my observation. There's no Mcdonald's or Jollibee!, there's no data signal in some areas, and its quiet. If you are the kind of traveller who likes to party like its in boracay, this is somewhat not suitable for you.

The airport of Coron is small that only planes like this are allowed to fly and land.

2. EXPENSIVE FOOD

The food here in Coron is expensive! An average restaurant here or food place has a rate same of a high class restaurant in my hometown which is Bacolod city. The difference is that the value of the food serve here in Coron is very worthy. The customer service is exceptional and the food menu is of a variety and comprises a lot of seafood dishes.

The famous bird's nest soup of Palawan. Although expensive, the taste and the flavor is
just fresh and this is a must try when visiting the island.

3. ATTRACTIONS ARE FAR

The airport here is far from the mainland. Coron town is the so called center of the Calamianes group of islands. Almost all tours and bookings are done in Coron town. Sad to say all of those nice attractions are not a walking distance or tricycle ride away from the town. All of those instagram worthy attractions are far, and would take a boat ride away or hours long roadtrip from the mainland of Coron.

The boat ride to one of the islands that is on the tour. There are a lot of tour packages being offered, but in my opinion the best one to get is the ULTIMATE TOUR PACKAGE
for travellers who are on a budget trip.

4. LESS PEOPLE, QUIET NIGHT

The night is quiet in the town of Coron. Although this is the center of the northern part of Palawan, I have observed that some areas are dark and quiet at night- maybe because I travelled there during the low or off-peak season. There are a little night out spots in the town and no loud music or karaoke playing in the streets. Even though the town is quiet and dark at night, town people are still approachable and friendly to tourists and I have heard that it is safe to roam around the town even at night time.

One of the "main center"in the town. During night time you can walk here and its not noisy or crowded like that of Boracay.

5. POISONOUS SEA CREATURES

Box jellyfish, coral snakes, poisonous rays and eels- a must to avoid in Coron. If you are the type of traveller who is not adventurous, and a life-conscious individual, maybe Coron is not for you. Although there are poisonous and dangerous creature here roaming around the waters, there are still those subtle and unharmful creatures here that you can take a selfie with like the big scary looking jellyfish and nemo!.

A selfie with a basketball ball size jellyfish. Although this kind is not harmful, always ask the
help of the tour guide in taking a photo with it.

Palawan is one of the regions that showcases the beauty of my country. This is a place that I will always call Paradise. There are some reasons why I don't like travelling here, but this will always be on my travel list. Most of the attractions here are breath-taking and beautiful. Although Coron is checked on my bucketlist, I will still going to be back here soon.

A secret place I know where you can take an amazing profile photo. If you want to know where is this located, go follow my blog, message me, and I'll tell you.

Disclaimer: Coron as what is stated in the title was meant to cover the whole entire islands and attractions in the Calamianes group of Islands which is located in the northern part of Palawan. So as to not be confused, Busuanga Island is where Coron town is located and Coron island is where most of the amazing attractions are found. This post is no way meant to be conveyed in a negative way, I just want to write a post in a creative way that will make me say my honest opinion and also in a way that will entertain the readers. Thanks! :)
